Well written, pseudo buddy-film, cop thriller. Tough talk with wit and charm. Amusing scene descriptions. Different from the final film. I actually would have liked to have seen this version but production and studio politics... Descriptions and details of Japan and the culture were good. Lended authenticity. Michael Douglas was a good choice for Conklin. Good script.
